(CNN Philippines, January 17) — Filipino ring icon Manny Pacquiao is all set for his 70th career fight.

The reigning welterweight king will put his WBA title on the line against American Adrien Broner on January 20 in Las Vegas.

Can Pacquiao score a knockout victory in the upcoming bout?

"We'll do our best. If the knockout comes, then that's a bonus. We'll grab that opportunity," he said in a press conference Thursday.

The eight-division world champion is coming off a knockout win against Argentine Lucas Matthysse, the first time in nine years.

This match will also be sentimental as the 40-year-old southpaw is returning to the venue where he fought his professional boxing debut in the U.S.

"I feel excited to be back in this arena because this is a memorable place for me. My first fight in America was in MGM, that was June 2001," he said.

Just like his previous statements, Pacquiao is dedicating this slugfest to the fans who continue to show their undying love for the sport.

"We're waiting for this moment. It's nothing personal, but this Saturday is for the fans. I'm passionate for the sport which is why I'm still here."

Pacquiao holds a record of 60 wins (39 knockouts), seven losses, and two draws.
