Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, February 11) — The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters are the hottest team in the PBA Philippine Cup right now.

Having won four straight games including a hard-earned victory against the erstwhile unbeaten Phoenix Pulse Fuel Masters Sunday, the Elasto Painters surged to the top of the team standings (6-1).

Rain or Shine head coach Caloy Garcia says they are not focusing on the string of wins, but rather on how they will execute in their next match.

"The winning streak, we don't think about. We're just taking it one game at a time," he told CNN Philippines Sports Desk Monday.

According to the Elasto Painters mentor, the emergence of Kris Rosales and Rey Nambatac is one of the reasons why their squad is performing at a high level.

"In every game, there's somebody who is stepping up. I think they are taking it as a challenge. To sum it all up, it's a total team effort," he said.

Rain or Shine will next face the Magnolia Hotshots on February 13 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. The Hotshots are still searching for their first win in the All-Filipino conference.

Garcia said containing Magnolia's backcourt players will be key in their meeting.

"Magnolia is always gonna be a team hard team to beat. We just have to stop their guards."
