The senator is failing charges after she allegedly advised her former driver-bodyguard, Ronnie Dayan, not to attend the Lower House probe into the alleged drug trade inside the New Bilibid Prison.
Senator Leila de Lima showed up at the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court following her arrest. There she met the judge who ordered her arrest after drug charge filed against her.
Along with Sen. Leila de Lima, two of her alleged accomplices are also facing detention without bail, including her former driver, bodyguard and lover, Ronnie Dayan.
Several convicts-turned-witnesses faced the House Committee on Justice last year and linked former Justice Secretary Leila de Lima to the illegal drug trade.
