Campaign Trail: May 4

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — Here's the latest from the campaign trail on Wednesday (May 4).

Sen. Grace Poe visited Quezon and Batangas. Displaced from the top of surveys, she remains confident of her winnability. Poe was a consistent presidential frontrunner for almost a year, until Mayor Rodrigo Duterte knocked her out of the top spot about a month ago. Administration bet Manuel "Mar" Roxas also overtook Poe by a percentage point in the latest Pulse Asia survey to take the second spot. Meanwhile, Poe's running mate Sen. Francis "Chiz" Escudero said he is ready to accept the outcome of the elections.

Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago spoke to voters in Gapan City, Nueva Ecija. Santiago delivered a speech to residents of Gapan City. This is her third rally outside a university since the beginning of the campaign period. She also calls on her friend, Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, to explain issues of alleged ill-gotten wealth. The senator believes Malacañang may be behind this, with Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV acting as an ally of the Liberal Party.

Administration bets Manuel "Mar" Roxas and Rep. Leni Robredo were in Quezon City. Roxas announced his fearless forecast – it's a battle between him and Duterte on election day. He attributed his surge in recent surveys to his performance during the presidential debate and the issues faced by Duterte. Residents of Quezon City's second district welcomed vice presidential bet Rep. Leni Robredo. Together with the president's sister, showbiz celebrity Kris Aquino, Robredo addressed her mostly women supporters. Robredo said she aims to push for economic empowerment among women under her leadership.

Meanwhile, opposition leader Vice President Jejomar Binay went home to Isabela province. He made his way through Cauayan and Santiago cities, and four other towns. Isabela Gov. Bojie Dy welcomed Binay at the airport. This, despite Dy's support for Roxas. Binay was also confident he will still get the support of the Solid North, as he is from Northern Luzon himself.
