Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 14) — Thousands of jobs will be restored with the upcoming pilot run of alert level system in Metro Manila, the Department of Trade and Industry said on Tuesday.

"Sabihin mo na 150,000 to 200,000 at least ang makabalik sa trabaho na ngayon ay walang trabaho,” Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez said in a Palace briefing, noting this estimate also takes informal sector workers into account.

The capital region will be placed under general community quarantine with Alert Level 4 from Sept. 16 to 30. Dine-ins will be allowed during the period, with a maximum 30% operational capacity allowed for outdoor and al fresco dining and 10% for indoor dining for fully vaccinated individuals.

The same operational capacities apply to personal care services namely barbershops, hair and nail spas, and beauty salons.

“It’s really focused on these labor-intensive jobs. Kaya ‘yun po ang dahilan kung bakit nauna itong [That is the reason why we prioritized] basic services,” explained Lopez.

He also said fully inoculated individuals must present their local government-issued vaccine cards for now, as authorities are still inputting data into the VaxCertPH system.
