Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 17) — TV host Kris Aquino announced on social media a movie comeback as she flew to Los Angeles on Easter Sunday, California to sign a Hollywood film deal.

Dubbed as Philippines' "Queen of All Media", Aquino said in her Instagram post that she would be signing her contract after sending in an audition reel to "a big Hollywood studio movie" which is set to film soon.

"But today Easter Sunday- I wanted you to know my story... I pray it gives you encouragement & hope. I am proof that in life doors will shut & there will be heartbreaking setbacks but FAITH in God's plan will open new, unexpected doors," Aquino said.

Aquino elaborated on the intense preparations she had made to bag the role, particularly with coming up with an audition reel in less than 72 hours.

The TV host then explained that she won't be able to share details on her role and the movie, but is grateful from all the support she has garnered from her colleagues.

"I passed 5 levels of intense scrutiny and was offered a role. It is surreal to be reading the script from a major Hollywood studio watermarked on every page with my name," Aquino added.

After disappearing from the limelight for almost a year after leaving ABS-CBN, Kris Aquino marked her TV comeback with her new travel and lifestyle TV special on GMA-7, Trip ni Kris.

Her comeback, however, was marred with controversy after expressing her disappointment with show producer Rhodora Morales in an interview with online magazine PEP.

Aquino then apologized to Morales on her Facebook page.
