The remarks were noticed by netizens, tagging Padilla and his friends on Twitter to reply.

Actors Marco Gumabao and Patrick Sugui, Padilla's friends who also played for his team in the Star Magic All Star Game, responded, saying they are willing to face Salas' camp in a five-on-five basketball match.

Shortly after, Padilla asked his friends if the tweets were serious, then addressed Salas to respond to the challenge.

Salas then said they will book a basketball court for the match.

Salas' on-screen partner, Barbie Imperial said she will support the actor no matter what.

Coming to Padilla's aid was his "La Luna Sangre" love interest and co-star Kathryn Bernardo, who tweeted a GIF of Curry.

Other actors, including Padilla's mother Karla Estrada also chimed in on the online conversation.
