Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 24) — Just over a month after she lost one of her twins, new mother Saab Magalona is helping ensure other babies have access to proper nutrition.

The singer and actress revealed in a tweet on Friday she has donated 100 bags of her excess breast milk to the Human Milk Bank (HMB).

While she admitted it was “bittersweet” that her body is producing enough milk for twins, Magalona said she was happy to know other babies would get stronger due to her “liquid gold.”

Milk banks like HMB ask breastfeeding mothers to donate excess milk so sick and premature babies whose mothers cannot feed them can have higher chances of survival.

She linked the Human Milk Bank website for mothers willing to give excess breast milk to babies in need.

In a separate tweet, Magalona also said she had seen posts and set aside frozen milk for a baby whose mother had just died.

“Also saw that tweet yesterday and contacted them I’ve already set aside some of my frozen milk for baby Phoebe! Will have them delivered to the hospital tomorrow,” she said.

Netizens, meanwhile, praised Magalona for being able to turn her experience into something that would help other people.

"A bittersweet experience turned into a worthy meaningful cause. So admirable," Twitter user Gabriel said.

"Ate Saab you’re an inspiration and a blessing to many families, the world needs more people like you. You are blessed with a beautiful baby and your baby is blessed with such wonderful parents," Clingyelnella said.

Magalona and her husband Jim Bacarro were expecting twins, but lost their daughter on February 8.

Magalona said last March 7 her baby is “recovering well” in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
