MMFF announces complete lineup for 2018

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, October 10) — The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) on Tuesday released the complete list of entries for the 2018 competition.

The event's executive committee has announced the four additional films that will complete the "Magic 8 lineup" for the annual affair.

Gonzaga sisters Toni and Alex will star alongside Sam Milby in the romantic comedy entry "Mary, Marry Me." The film, directed by RC Delos Reyes and produced by boutique film production company Ten17p, also stars Bayani Agbayani and Melai Cantiveros.

Kim Chiu returns to the big screen as she pairs up with Dennis Trillo in the Regal Entertainment film "One Great Love." Directed by Eric Quizon, the movie also features JC De Vera, Miles Ocampo, Marlo Mortel, and Nina Dolino.

Collegiate basketball player Ricci Rivero will meanwhile make his acting debut via Horseshoe Productions' horror entry "Otlum." Rivero, who is currently serving his residency for the University of the Philippines in the UAAP, will be joined by Jerome Ponce in the movie directed by Joven Tan.

Veteran stars Eddie Garcia, Tony Mabesa, Gloria Romero, and Sunshine Dizon will also grace the film festival with their official entry "Rainbow's Sunset." The family drama film is directed by Joel Lamangan and produced by Heaven's Best Entertainment.

The film body earlier announced the first four entries for the yearly festival. These are Viva Films' "Aurora" starring Anne Curtis; Star Cinema and Viva Films' "Fantastica: The Princess, The Prince, and The Perya" featuring Vice Ganda, Maris Racal, Loisa Andalio, and Maymay Entrata; Quantum and MJM Films' "Girl in the Orange Dress" starring Jessy Mendiola and Jericho Rosales; and MZet, APT, and CCM Productions' "Popoy En Jack: The Pulisincredibles" starring Vic Sotto, Coco Martin, and Maine Mendoza.

MMFF 2018 opens on Christmas day, and will run through the first week of January 2019.
