Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 1) — President Rodrigo Duterte again attacked Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, this time claiming that the senator's wife, Sharon Cuneta, wants him out of their home.

In a continuation of his rant against Pangilinan and the law which he authored that raised the minimum age of criminal liability to 15 years old, Duterte said Cuneta has been asking Pangilinan to move out.

Pinapaalis na nga ng asawa niya sa bahay niya, ayaw kay wala ibang matirahan. Totoo. Tanungin mo,” Duterte said in a speech during the Bonifacio Day rites Saturday. “At kung sabihin mo nagsisinungaling ako, I will resign. Ang sinasabi ko totoo ‘yan.

[Translation: His wife wants him out of their home, but he doesn’t want to leave because he has nowhere else to go. It’s true. Go ask. And if you say that I’m lying, I will resign. What I’m saying is true.]

CNN Philippines has sought Pangilinan for comment, but Cuneta dismissed Duterte's claim.

"Hala buti pa siya alam," the couple's daughter, Frankie Pangilinan tweeted Sunday.

[Translation: Wow, good thing he knows.]

In a separate tweet, Frankie said, "Imagine being more concerned with 'ruining' a perfectly happy family instead of... being... a good leader."

Cuneta sparked speculation of marital troubles between her and Pangilinan in 2017 over her cryptic posts on Facebook.

Following the posts, Cuneta assured that she and Pangilinan are now “fine.”

Cuneta said although she initially liked sharing her feelings with the public, she had to remind herself that social media was "not [her] journal."

"This is not my journal, people all over the world will get to read this. So I've refrained from posting stuff like that," Cuneta told CNN Philippines’ The Source in 2017.

"I wanted people to know I was also human, that was a big part of it. And then I figured, everyone is gonna have an opinion about you," she added.

Even if her husband is a leader of the opposition party, Cuneta has admitted having close links with the Duterte family, having been friends with Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte since 2012.

The megastar had said that she is blessed that she and Sara are “sincere and thoughtful enough” to separate politics from their friendship.

Cuneta had also dined with the President in Malacañang in 2018.
