Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 2) — With the help of actress Heart Evangelista, a homeless man who lives with dogs in the streets has found a new home.

Evangelista, who is also an animal rights advocate, first met Mang Jun along Gilmore Avenue last November.

Since then, animal rescue group PAWSsion Project has extended help to Mang Jun and the stray dogs he is taking care of.

Evangelista and the PAWSsion Project gave Mang Jun an early Christmas gift as they granted his wish to have a new home where he can live with his dogs.

“Today was totally a happy, emotional, heartwarming and life changing day as we officially welcomed Kuya Jun and his dogs to the shelter. HOMELESS NO MORE!,” said the group in an Instagram post.

The group said that Mang Jun has been praying to have a new home.

“He had the simplest wishes, just a place where he can be with his dogs, and clothes he can use to go to church,” said PAWSsion Project. “He said, everyday, he prays for a home for him and his dogs and we thank God for using all of us as His instruments.”

The group added, “Thank you @iamhearte for helping us give him a home. It was all because of you that we now have this amazing new member of our family.”

The actress also shared on Twitter Mang Jun’s new life.
