Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 18) — Veteran actor Eddie Garcia, who is comatose for more than week now, was hailed as the best actor in the 42nd Gawad Urian awards night Tuesday.

The 90-year-old actor bagged the top acting prize for his role in the martial-law-themed movie "ML."

This is the third Gawad Urian recognition for Garcia after he won the same award in 2000 for his film "Deathrow" and received the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006.

Garcia remains in critical condition after sustaining a neck fracture while taping for a television series in Tondo, Manila on June 8.

He is being supported by a ventilator and given medication to support his blood pressure at the Makati Medical Center.
