Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 28) — Actor Alden Richards bagged Wednesday the Asian Star Prize at the Seoul International Drama Awards.

“It’s such an honor to receive this award. Being a Filipino, I am humbled and grateful to be recognized in the international scene, along with so many amazing and talented artists,” Richards said in his acceptance speech.

He said the award is special to him, happening as the Philippines and South Korea mark 70 years of diplomatic ties.

This is Richards’ second international award. He scored a silver medal from the New York Festivals in 2017 for his performance in GMA-7’s martial law drama “Alaala.”

Along with Richards, Miura Haruma also won the Asian Star Prize.

The Asian Star Prize is a non-competition category in the Seoul International Drama Awards, which honors excellence in television drama productions worldwide.

Richards is the third Filipino to win the Asian Star Prize after actors Gabby Concepcion and Dennis Trillo.
