Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 29)— Local music icon April Boy Regino has died, his family confirmed on Sunday. He was 59.

Regino's colleagues in the music and entertainment industries poured out their heartfelt condolences upon hearing the news.

"He was always a man who was very humble even when he was on top of his game. He always wanted to make his fans happy. I'm so sorry to hear about this," fellow musician and pop icon Gary Valenciano wrote on his Twitter page.

"May you rest in God's peace April Boy Regino. Glad to have worked with you the beginning of the year," singer Jaya also tweeted.
