Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 25) — Actor Christopher de Leon has been discharged from the hospital a week after announcing he had tested positive for COVID-19.

His wife, actress Sandy Andolong-De Leon confirmed this on her Instagram page Tuesday night.

She shared a photo of De Leon, wearing a face mask, with the caption "And he is finally home."

She thanked the health workers at The Medical City for taking care of her husband.

In another Instagram story, she shared a photo of their family's group chat with the stickers "be thankful" and "God is good."

On March 17, De Leon disclosed his diagnosis for the coronavirus disease, adding that he had no recent travel history abroad and had no contact with known coronavirus patients.

His family, house help, as well as colleagues in the ABS-CBN TV drama "Love Thy Woman" have undergone home quarantine.

The Philippines now has 552 COVID-19 cases. Of this number, 35 have died while 19 have recovered.

To prevent the spread of the virus, authorities are urging people to practice regular hand washing, cover their mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing, and avoid close contact with those who exhibit virus symptoms.
