Manila (CNN Philippines Life) — Hailing from the province meant frequent trips to the metro or other neighboring regions. As a child, I had in mind what I called “the van” — the quintessential vehicle that would transport my family to places, often carrying huge pieces of baggage in the back. This, in a way, is standard Filipino culture in display, as we, as a nation, are avid enthusiasts of the vehicle. So it makes sense that Toyota chose the Philippines to unveil its new generation of Hiace — after all, we ranked as the largest consumers of it, and Toyota Hiace is the vehicle that is deeply embedded into the Filipino culture.

“The Hiace model has a long and meaningful history with the Filipino. Since its introduction in 1994, the Hiace has been bringing people closer together by taking them to adventures and experiences, leading to wonderful memories that last a lifetime,” says Satoru Suzuki, President of Toyota Philippines.

The Hiace is also known for its versatility — it is not only used for family trips, but it is also an integral vehicle in our country’s nation-building. It’s a vehicle that is widely used both by public and private sectors, helping develop our country’s education (as buses), tourism (as coaches), healthcare (as an ambulance), and more. Now, Toyota released three variants of the All-new Hiace: the GL Grandia Tourer, the GL Grandia, and the Commuter Deluxe upgrading the Hiace experience that Filipinos have come to know.

The 2019 Hiace has been completely redesigned, giving utmost comfort and productivity. More than its refreshed modern look, the Hiace’s semi-bonnet design enhances the safety of the driver giving way for a smoother drive without the heat and vibration stemming from underneath the seats. The all-new Hiace also features LED clearance lamps and 16’’ alloy wheels, all packed with a more powerful and reliable diesel engine.

The interiors of the sixth-generation Hiace also prides itself on giving the absolute comfort to its passengers. Its maximized storage space, bigger legroom, wider doorsteps, strategically-positioned assist grips, and illuminated entry system assures for easy traveling, whether you’re on a trip with the family, or in a commute by yourself.

Since the all-new Hiace is also a utility vehicle that is often used to transport different people from all walks of life, it incorporates advanced safety features that ensure the traveler’s wellbeing. The new Hiace comprises of Vehicle Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, Anti-Lock Brake System, Brake Assist, and driver and front passenger airbags. It is the complete package, regardless of who and what for and where and when needed.

As Toyota Motor Corporation’s Chief Engineer Takuo Ishikawa puts it, “The Hiace is a faithful partner that makes people feel safe, satisfied, and proud. Owners, drivers, and passengers know they are in good hands when they own, drive, and ride in a Hiace. They know it can be trusted, and that it has excellent resale value. There is simply no substitute.”

Available in trusted dealerships nationwide, the all-new Hiace comes in different colors. The GL Grandia Tourer comes in Luxury Pearl Toning, Silver Mica Metallic, and Light Blue Metallic. The GL Grandia comes in Luxury Pearl Toning, Silver Mica Metallic, and Black. The Commuter Deluxe comes in White & Silver Mica Metallic. Prices start at ₱1,590,000.
