Local artisans set to take the spotlight at Manila FAME this October

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — Local artisans will take the spotlight again as Manila FAME reopens its doors to the public this month.

Dubbed as the Philippines’ premier design and lifestyle event, Manila FAME will feature the finest locally-made lifestyle products during the exhibit on October 15 to 17 at the World Trade Center in Pasay.

“Though not familiar to many, Manila FAME is already one of the best-kept secret sourcing hubs of big global names in the industry,” said Pauline Suaco-Juan, executive director of the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM).

“With its decades of experience, Manila FAME has witnessed many locally-manufactured products to be featured and sold in major boutiques and retail outlets all around the globe,” she added.

International brands source some of their products in Manila FAME.

These groups include the Gordon Companies, Inc.; Williams Sonoma; Crate and Barrel; Pottery Barn; TJX – USA; In-Sattva Ventures, Inc.; Nan Inc.; and Silk Road Bazaar from the USA. Manila FAME also caters to brands in Asian countries such as Japan and Singapore.

Now on its 35th year, Manila FAME will gather more than 300 exporters and manufacturers of home and lifestyle products.

Organized by the Trade Department through its export promotion arm CITEM, the event aims to serve as as the cultivating ground and springboard for innovative, top-of-the-line Philippine products and the gateway for designers to break through key international markets.
