Metro Manila (CNN Philippines. December 23) — One of the country's top tourist destinations lands in a lifestyle and travel site's list of top places to visit in the coming year.

Siargao made it to the eighth spot in Conde Nast Traveller's Best Holiday Destinations for 2020, with the publication saying it predicts it "will be stealing a cool crowd (whether they surf or not) from Bali."

"The teardrop-shaped tropical island in the rarely trod southeast of the Philippines is luring legions of right-on sorts to its shores, with its gnarly surf breaks, including the legendary Cloud 9 barreling wave, which counts Kelly Slater and Anthony Kiedis among its riders," said the article.

This is not the first time a local destination made it to one of Conde Nast Traveller's best lists.

In 2015, three places in the country were included in their "Best Islands in the World" tally.

Cebu was at the 19th spot, Boracay in 15th, and Palawan topped the list.
