(CNN Philippines, April 30) — It's a common sight to see mountaineers raise the Philippine flag when they conquer a summit, but this Filipina took this tradition to a new height.

Bianca Lawas shared on her Facebook account Sunday a photo of herself wearing a red Filipiniana and raising the country's flag at the Everest base camp in Nepal.

She spent 10 days going to the base camp.

Lawas admitted that changing into the national dress in the freezing temperature (-15 degree Celsius) and high altitude (5,364 meters above sea level or 17,598 feet) was not a joke.

Her Facebook post has already over 2,500 reactions, shared more than 1,500 times, and has 205 comments as of posting time.
