Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — Championing resilience amid adversity, heritage brand Ginebra San Miguel joined forces with Miss Universe-Philippines 2020 contenders to celebrate the never-say-die spirit of Filipinos.

Twelve beauty queens from the National Capital Region, Luzon, Mindanao, and Visayas appeared in online videos released last week. They gave a sneak peek into their preparations for the beauty pageant, inspired by the plight of blue-collar workers navigating these challenging times.

Metro Manila candidates Michele Gumabao (Quezon City), Sandra Lemonon (Taguig City), and Ivanna Pacis (Makati City) paid tribute to jeepney drivers.

In Luzon, Miss Universe-Philippines hopefuls Faye Deveza (Quezon Province), Adelma Benicta (Ilocos Sur), and Kia Moreno (Camarines Sur) lauded the farmers.

Mindanaoan candidates Vincy Vacalares (Cagayan de Oro), We’am Ahmed (Davao del Norte), and Perlyn Cayona (Zamboanga del Sur) applauded the construction workers.

In Visayas, Christelle Abello (Aklan), Pauline Amelinckx (Bohol), and Joecel Robenta (Antique) honored the fisherfolk.

The candidates will compete for the Miss Universe-Philippines title on October 25.

Now more than ever, the message of “pagkakaisa” of Ginebra San Miguel’s “One Ginebra Nation” campaign could not be more timely. Since the imposed community quarantine in March, the COVID-19 pandemic has tested the mettle of Filipinos physiologically, financially, and mentally. Ginebra San Miguel believes that the act of unity among the pageant’s contenders across the region can show that Filipinos are all in this together.

Since 1834, Ginebra San Miguel has been a part of Filipino milestones. From the islands of Luzon up north to Visayas and Mindanao down south, many celebrations of friendship, camaraderie and community were sustained and made stronger by this one drink.

Today, Ginebra San Miguel is the world’s best-selling gin and gold medal winner of the prestigious Monde Selection Awards.
