Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 20)— Living under lockdown due to COVID-19 has made people switch mindsets— particularly in appreciating the little, simpler things in life. And in this time of crisis, one sector that has gotten more recognition is the arts.

Several citizens living under isolation have counted on arts and entertainment to get them through the day. From free streaming of theater shows to virtual concerts — the momentary joys have become an important part of their lives during these difficult times.

In the Philippines, you can now also pitch in to assist with relief efforts for the COVID-19 crisis — with the help of local arts and fashion.

Salcedo Auctions, the country's premier auction house, has collated the creations of renowned fashion designers and artists for an event that will benefit non-profit organization Rise Against Hunger. Proceeds of their latest auction will help aid the program to feed Filipinos whose livelihoods were affected by the lockdown.

"The designers, the artists have been tremendously generous in donating their work to help us raise funds for rise against hunger," Salcedo Auctions Chairman and Chief Specialist Richie Lerma told CNN Philippines' The Source.

The items up for grabs include a Michael Cinco lavender stretch gown worn by singer Kylie Minogue during a past concert. The piece has also been featured in Vogue fashion magazine.

Other designer dresses in the pool include creations of Michael Leyva, Jojie Lloren, and Lesley Mobo, among others.

The auction will likewise feature various antique furniture, intricately crafted jewelry, bags, paintings and other artworks, and more.

The auction will take place on this Saturday, May 23, starting at 11 a.m. Online registration is needed to participate, while there is also a provision for absentee and telephone bids.
