Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 18) -- This year's Miss Universe candidates will strut on the runway wearing Filipino designer Jojo Bragais' shoes.

The Miss Universe Organization announced on Saturday that local brand Bragais will be the pageant’s shoe sponsor for the upcoming pageant in Florida next month.

“All of our delegates walk with purpose, strength and in their own unique stride. Presenting the official footwear sponsor of the 69th Miss Universe competition Jojo Bragais, who empowers women to ‘Walk. Win,’" said the organization in its Facebook page.

Bragais also shared the announcement on Instagram: “Jojo Bragais is a world-class Filipino brand that understands how walks in life can make or break one’s ability to win. For that reason, it has always designed its shoes to be uncompromising in style, comfort, and quality. The brand has been worn by winning queens in some of the most important runways around the world.”

Bragais is not a neophyte in the world of pageantry, providing pageant heels for Bb. Pilipinas candidates in the previous years.

He also designed the boots of Catriona Gray for her national costume during Miss Universe 2018.

The country’s bet for the 69th Miss Universe is Rabiya Mateo. The finals night will happen on May 17, Philippine time, where South Africa’s Zozibini Tunzi will crown her successor.
