Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — The Quezon City government announced the suspension of classes in all levels on July 25, the day of President Rodrigo Duterte's first State of the Nation Address (SONA).

Duterte will deliver his SONA at the Batasang Pambansa Complex in Quezon City.

The National Capital Region Police Office said it has ramped up security for next week's SONA: 6,400 policemen will be deployed in the vicinity, while 4,600 reserve personnel will be on standby.

Award-winning director Brillante Mendoza, who offered his services for free, will direct the President's SONA.
