Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — The Department of Education (DepEd) on Sunday has announced class suspensions in areas affected by severe tropical storm ‘Carina.’

Classes in both public and private schools have been cancelled in the following areas:

 All levels:

- Mankayan, Benguet

- Abra

- Cagayan

Kindergarten to high school:

- Isabela

In its 2 p.m. weather bulletin, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) raised storm Signal No.2 in Isabela, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Apayao, Mt. Province, Ifugao, Kalinga, Abra, Cagayan, and the Babuyan Group of Islands.

While storm Signal No.1 is hoisted over Batanes, Benguet, La Union, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Pangasinan, Nueva Ecija, and Aurora.

TS Carina made landfall in Cagayan City on Sunday afternoon.
