Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 14) — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will start implementing its provincial bus ban on portions of EDSA on Wednesday.

Provincial buses will be banned from traversing portions of EDSA during rush hour, from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays.

Buses will be banned from traversing from Cubao to Pasay City and vice-versa. Buses from the north will end their route in Cubao while buses from the south will end their route in Pasay.

Violators will be fined ₱2,000.

Like the ban on single-passenger vehicles, the MMDA scheme aims to lessen traffic in EDSA.
