Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, October 30) — After briefly making landfall in Isabela, Typhoon "Rosita" is now heading towards La Union, weather officials said.

In its 2 p.m. update, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said "Rosita" is currently in Sablan, Benguet and will traverse over the rest of the province, La Union and Pangasinan before its departure from Philippine territory Wednesday evening.

"Rosita" made landfall in Dinapigue, Isabela Tuesday morning and is currently bringing moderate to heavy rains and strong winds to northern and central Luzon.

Winds were seen blowing roofs off several homes in Santiago City, Isabela.

The typhoon will also bring light to moderate and at times heavy rains to Metro Manila in the next 24 hours, PAGASA said.

Tropical cyclone warning signal number 3 is up in the following areas:

Northern Aurora

Benguet

Ifugao

Ilocos Sur

Isabela

La Union

Mountain Province

Nueva Vizcaya

Pangasinan

Quirino

Stormy weather and moderate to heavy rains will drench these areas. Winds that would cause light to moderate damage to infrastructure and considerable damage to trees and shrubbery are also expected, weather officials advised.

Tropical cyclone warning signal number 2 is raised over the following provinces:

Abra

Apayao

Southern Aurora

Bulacan

Cagayan

Ilocos Norte

Kalinga

Nueva Ecija

Pampanga

Northern Quezon including Polillo Island

Tarlac

Zambales

Infrastructure, trees and shrubbery in these areas may suffer light to moderate damage due to strong winds. Some houses made of nipa and cogon may be partially unroofed while electric posts and coconut trees may be tilted.

Babuyan group of Islands

Bataan

Batangas

Cavite

Laguna

Metro Manila

Rizal

A storm surge of up to three meters may occur over the coastal areas of Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Norte, La Union and Pangasinan. Weather officials said residents near the shorelines should evacuate.

On the other hand, a storm surge reaching two meters is expected over Aurora and Ilocos Sur while it will only reach one meter for the coastal areas of Ilocos Norte.

Rosita was last spotted in the vicinity of Dinapigue, Isabela packing maximum center winds of 140 kilometers per hour (kph) and gusts of 230 kph. It is currently moving west at 20 kph.
