Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 29) — President Rodrigo Duterte has declared June 5 (Wednesday) as a regular holiday in observance of Eid'l Fitr or the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea confirmed on Wednesday.

The Eid'l Fitr under Republic Act 9177 of 2002 is declared as a national holiday, but the date is not fixed as the Muslim calendar is based on the different phases of the moon.
