The suspects entered the bank along Sto. Cristo Street around 8:43 a.m. — a few minutes before its operating hours.

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 11) — Closed-circuit television footage showed how robbers entered a Metrobank branch in Binondo Thursday morning.

The suspects entered the bank along Sto. Cristo Street around 8:43 a.m. — a few minutes before its operating hours.

The footage shows a man wearing a jacket, helmet and backpack as he entered. A few minutes later, two men wearing caps followed inside.

Several minutes later, five people -- donning either a cap or a helmet -- stepped out of the bank.

Manila City Police Chief Brigadier General Vicente Danao Jr questioned why the security guards opened their doors well before the operating hours.

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and authorities are looking at other suspicious details of the theft.
