Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 14) — A man died after a tower crane snapped from the top of a construction site in Manila on Sunday.

According to the Manila Police District (MPD), 23-year-old steel worker Marcoso John Eric Lindor was transferring scrap metals to a truck around 11 a.m. when the overhead crane snapped. Its pulley dropped from the 28th floor of a condominium building being erected at the corner of Dos Castillas and Piy Margal Streets in Sampaloc, which killed Lindor on the spot.

The MPD Homicide Unit is currently investigating the incident.
