Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 19) — A Philippine Military Academy (PMA) cadet has died after complaining of stomach ache.

Fourth class cadet Darwin Dormitorio died of cardiac arrest secondary to internal bleeding, based on the initial investigation conducted by PMA. The 20-year-old cadet started vomiting inside their barracks in Baguio City and complained of stomach ache early Wednesday morning. He was brought to the PMA Station Hospital and was later declared dead.

PMA said it is conducting an investigation on the details of the cadet's death.

"PMA assures the public that every cadet's overall well-being is constantly and systematically being considered in every aspect of education and training," it said in a statement on Thursday.
