Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 22) — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said no Filipinos were hurt in the massive fire that broke out in Male, Maldives.

A statement from the DFA on Sunday said they were closely monitoring the aftermath of the fire which broke out on Friday and displaced more than a hundred residents.

"The Philippine Embassy in Bangladesh, which has a jurisdiction over Maldives, reported that as of the moment, the seven Filipinos residing in the buildings engulfed by the blaze are all reported safe," said the DFA.

Reports from news agencies in the Maldives say the fire broke out in a warehouse located in a residential area.
