Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, October 16) — The COVID-19 task force has eased the age range of those allowed to go out amid quarantine restrictions.

Those aged 15 to 65 are now allowed to go out, according to the Inter-Agency Task Force Resolution No. 79 released on Friday.

The previous travel restrictions on those under 21 and over 60 have been repeatedly contested. Since March, they were required to stay at home — with the exception of work and buying necessities.

IATF spokesperson Harry Roque said local government units have the freedom to impose a higher age limit for minors. IATF once again appealed to LGUs to shorten curfew hours to allow businesses to thrive.

The task force also allowed establishments and malls to conduct sales "to spur consumer and economic activity. "
