Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 7) — Motorcycle taxi companies Angkas and Joyride received on Monday compliance certificates, according to a statement from the Land Transportation Office.

The LTO said both were found compliant with guidelines set by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases and the Motorcycle Taxi Technical Working Group.

"The certificate shall be valid for the duration of the MC Taxi Pilot Study unless revoked or canceled," the statement said.

The pilot run of motorcycle taxis resumed on November 23 after it was approved on October 23. The pilot study was set to end in April, but was suspended in March when lockdowns were imposed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The guidelines were released on November 9.

It includes the full cashless payment to minimize the spread of COVID-19.

Passengers should also bring their own helmet with a visor that will act as face shield.
