Chinese national gunned down, one injured in Makati restaurant

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, February 28) — A Chinese national was shot to death, while another was injured by five other Chinese men Thursday evening at a restaurant in Makati City.

The victim who was killed on the spot was identified as 33-year-old Yin Jian Tao. His companion, 25-year old Kai Zheng was injured.

According to initial investigation, the victims entered the Jiang-Nan Hot Pot restaurant, together with the suspects. Gunfire was heard after a few minutes and the 33-year-old victim died instantly.

Three of the suspects immediately escaped, while two others were arrested by Barangay Bel-Air officials in a follow-up operation.

An amount of ₱345,000 was recovered from the two arrested suspects, along with three firearms. Police are still investigating the motive behind the shooting incident, and are hunting down the three suspects at large.
