Quezon City logs 10 more COVID-19 cases, bringing the total to 97

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 27) — Quezon City confirms ten more cases of COVID-19 Thursday, a report by the city’s health department said.

The total number of confirmed cases in the city is now at 97, including 14 casualties, and nine recoveries.

The additional 10 cases are from the following barangays:

District 1

● Brgy. Bahay Toro - 1 patient

● Brgy. Mariblo - 1 patient

● Brgy. San Isidro Labrador - 2 patients

● Brgy. San Jose - 1 patient

● Brgy. West Triangle - 1 patient

District 2

● Brgy. Bagong Silangan - 2 patients

District 4

● Brgy. Dona Imelda - 1 patient

District 6

● Brgy. Culiat - 1 patient

According to the Office of the Mayor, extreme enhanced community quarantine will be implemented in barangays with two or more confirmed cases, which will be subject to daily review depending on the number of cases and recoveries.

“The Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office together with Quezon City Fire Department continuously disinfects streets and highways,” the statement added.

Fifty-one barangays have been disinfected as of Thursday.

The Health Department says that there are now 707 confirmed cases in the Philippines, with 45 deaths.

To prevent the further spread of the virus, authorities are urging people to practice regular hand washing, cover their mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing, and avoid close contact with those who exhibit virus symptoms.
