Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 28) - The country has recorded 181 new cases of COVID-19 infection, bringing the total to 7,958.

The Department of Health also said that 43 patients survived the viral disease, with recoveries now at 975.

Meanwhile, the country’s death toll has reached 530 after 19 new fatalities were confirmed.

The daily figures from DOH are not real-time data as cases have to be validated before reporting.

There are currently 19 hospitals and laboratories conducting testing for COVID-19.

President Rodrigo Duterte recently extended the enhanced community quarantine in some areas in Luzon, including Metro Manila, until May 15. This is to further contain the spread of the virus.
