Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 8) — British journalist Piers Morgan praised Filipino healthcare workers in the United Kingdom for “saving” people’s lives.

Morgan described Filipino nurses as “unsung heroes” in the Tuesday telecast of Good Morning Britain.

“Amazing number of Filipinos working in NHS (National Health Service), are unsung heroes. Thank you to all the Filipinos who are here, doing all this,” he said.

Morgan added that people sometimes forget the “extraordinary workforce” in the healthcare service.

“It’s worth bearing in mind when we talk about immigrants in this country, these are the immigrants currently saving people's lives. Coming here and actually enriching our country and doing an amazing job,” he said.
