Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 7) — Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray is doing her part to help increase the country's testing capacity amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Gray announced Sunday that she is auctioning some of her pre-loved items, and all proceeds will be used to aid the government in their mass testing efforts.

"The MU pin in particular is super sentimental to me as it secured my sash as I competed in the Preliminary competition of Miss Universe 2018," Gray said in a social media post. "But I've decided to dedicate it to a cause."

Gray is selling her items on the Shop and Share Store, a project launched by actresses Angel Locsin and Anne Curtis.

The platform allows actors, singers, and athletes to donate personal items, such as designer bags, clothes, jerseys, and jewelry, which are auctioned off on e-commerce platform eBay. Locsin said the proceeds will be used to purchase COVID-19 test kits and allow testing opportunities in the poorer sectors of the country.

Other celebrities, among them Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, Kathryn Bernardo, Liza Soberano, Tony Labrusca, and Zsa Zsa Padilla, are also auctioning their pre-loved items on the platform in support of the cause.
