Batangas Vice Governor Mark Leviste tests positive for COVID-19

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 1) — Batangas Vice Governor Mark Leviste disclosed Saturday that he tested positive for COVID-19.

Leviste said in a video on his Facebook page that he decided to submit himself and members of his household to a swab test after two of his household helpers experienced headache and mild colds.

His household helpers tested negative, while the vice governor tested positive. According to Leviste, he has not experienced any symptom.

“I would like to assure everyone that I can manage this,” he said.

The Philippines recorded another record high of 4,963 new cases Saturday, pushing the total number of infections nationwide to 98,232.
