Senior Citizens party-list Rep. Datol dies of COVID-19

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 11) — Francisco "Jun" Datol Jr, the congressman representing senior citizens in the Lower House, died on Monday due to acute respiratory distress brought by COVID-19.

The Senior Citizens party-list, where Datol was the first nominee, confirmed the news on Tuesday. He was 72.

Datol was the sole representative of the Senior Citizens party-list in the 18th Congress. He also chaired the House committee on senior citizen’s affairs.
