Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 22) — The Pasay City police arrested on Sunday evening the suspect in the stone-throwing incident that damaged a window of an MRT-3 train and injured a passenger earlier in the day, officials said Monday.

The suspect, who was identified as Lester Rodriguez, 29, was arrested at 9 p.m. He is currently detained and being investigated at the Pasay City Substation 4.

According to the police, two witnesses identified Rodriguez as the one who threw the stone at the train couch in Taft Avenue Station.

In a text message to CNN Philippines, MRT-3 operations director Michael Capati clarified that no “scavenger” was apprehended after the incident as stated in the initial report.

The MRT-3 management also said it would file several complaints against Rodriguez, including one for malicious mischief.

A 51-year-old injured passenger was brought to the San Juan De Dios Hospital in Pasay City.
