Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 2) — The University of the Philippines and 14 other colleges in the country are included in the list of top Asian universities by the 2022 Quacquarelli Symonds' Asia University Rankings.

In the 2022 ranking of the global higher education think tank, UP placed 77th out of 687 featured institutions and first among the listed Philippine colleges. However, this is eight spots lower than the university's rank in the 2021 edition.

Meanwhile, the 14 other Philippines universities that made it to the latest list are:

The National University of Singapore topped the list of best universities in Asia, followed by Peking University in China, University of Hong Kong, and Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.

The QS Asia University Rankings used 11 indicators in compiling the list of universities, which include academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty/student ratio, international research network, citations per paper and papers per faculty, among others.
