Tandag City Mayor Roxanne Pimentel told CNN Philippines that their low-lying areas in town are submerged in floodwaters. She said that 2,000 families were already evacuated.

Pimentel also said that rice fields in the town are also submerged in flood, with damage to agriculture estimated at P66 million.

But the mayor said there were no casualties reported so far.

Meanwhile, Roxas City Mayor Ronnie Dadivas earlier said in a radio interview that 398 families coming from areas prone to flood and landslides have voluntarily evacuated.
