Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, February 25) — Four kidnapped Chinese nationals were rescued, while 11 suspects were arrested in separate operations in Quezon City and Pampanga, the Philippine National Police said on Thursday.

The PNP said a Chinese woman was first saved at a medical clinic along N.S. Amoranto Avenue, Quezon City on Wednesday evening. Authorities nabbed her three captors, identified as Chinese national Mou Yun Peng, Malaysian national Liang Khai Chean, and a Filipino named Benjie Labor. The motive behind the kidnapping is still unclear.

Another operation was conducted later that night after the woman revealed there are other kidnap victims held in a safehouse in Barangay Sta. Cruz in Mexico, Pampanga, where she had been detained, police said.

This led to the rescue of three more abducted Chinese and the arrest of eight more unnamed suspects, two of whom are also Chinese while six are Filipinos. The PNP said investigators are "still establishing the true identities" of the eight other arrested people.
