Another magnitude 5 earthquake hit Cotabato on Friday afternoon, which was felt all the way to Davao Del Sur.

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 1) — Another earthquake rocked Cotabato on Friday afternoon, this time in the town of Makilala.

State seismologists reported a magnitude 5 tremor in Makilala, Cotabato at 2:07 p.m. after a series of quakes rocked Mindanao earlier this week.

The quake was felt the strongest in Magsaysay, Davao Del Sur, which was at Intensity V. The tremor reached Pikit, Cotabato as well as Bansalan in Davao Del Sur at Intensity IV.

Shaking was also felt in Malungon, Sarangani; Korodanal City; Tupi in South Cotabato; and Alabel in Sarangani.

Phivolcs said aftershocks are expected.

Earlier today, the agency reported a magnitude 5.5 earthquake which hit waters off Sarangani. Phivolcs Seismology Division officer in charge Ishmael Narag said there is no tsunami threat, and that this was "independent" of the series of earthquakes that shook Tulunan, Cotabato in the last two weeks.
