Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 27) — Police arrested a Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) chairperson in Barangay Lagundi, Rapu-Rapu, Albay, for destroying checkpoint barricades in his village Wednesday.

The incumbent SK chairperson was identified as 23-year-old Armando Botin Echemane. According to the police report, Echemane kicked the barricade of the quarantine checkpoint, while “uttering words against the barangay officials on duty.”

The suspect was allegedly intoxicated when the incident happened at 3a.m., according to Albay Police Provincial spokesperson Dexter Panganiban.

Echemane is now facing charges on Serious Disobedience to an Agent of a Person in Authority.
