Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 9) — Four days after passing away, a 23-day-old baby boy in Lipa, Batangas was confirmed to have had the coronavirus disease, Mayor Eric Africa said.

Africa announced on Thursday that the baby from Barangay Lodlod received his test results from the Department of Health after his death on April 5. The mayor did not give other details.

This is the youngest reported local fatality from the deadly disease that has already claimed over 200 lives in the country. The health department has yet to validate the report.

As of Wednesday, Lipa listed 14 COVID-19 cases and four deaths. Meanwhile, more than 4,000 are infected nationwide while some 124 also recovered.
