Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 23) — Chong Hua Hospital, one of Cebu City’s major private facilities handling COVID-19 patients, has reached its full capacity as cases in the province continue to rise.

The hospital now has a total of 180 confirmed, probable, and suspected COVID-19 patients. Around 120 of their healthcare staff are also on quarantine.

“We wish to inform you that Chong Hua Hospital, despite having the greatest number of beds allocated for COVID-related cases among the private hospitals, is currently full in our COVID-19 capacity,” it said in a statement.

On Tuesday, the country has seen the biggest single-day increase in COVID-19 cases with 1,150 new infections.

Central Visayas recorded the highest number of new cases at 320, and Cebu City currently has the most number of COVID-19 cases among Philippine cities at 4,479.
