Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 26)— Catanduanes Governor Joseph Cua on Tuesday revealed he and his wife have tested positive for COVID-19.

Cua made the announcement on his Facebook page, adding they are only showing mild symptoms.

"Thankfully, we are only manifesting mild symptoms. Rest assured that the Governor's Office continues to function given that I am able to work online as I quarantine," Cua said.

The official said he has directed all personnel at the governor's office, as well as his family, to undergo antigen tests. They all tested negative, he added.

Cua again underscored the importance of following the minimum health protocols to help stop the spread of the coronavirus.
