Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 20) — San Miguel Beermen stalwart June Mar Fajardo hopes to get back to hardcourt action soon.

The reigning Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Most Valuable Player was sidelined due to a right shin injury which made him miss the Beermen's first two games in the PBA Governors' Cup.

Fajardo said he is still waiting for the doctor's clearance. But he expects to rejoin San Miguel's roster next month.

"Hinihintay pa yung go signal ng doctor," he told CNN Philippines Sports Desk. "Siguro makakabalik na ako mid-October."

"May fracture pa. Hindi pa siya totally healed. Sana mapabilis (yung recovery) para makabalik na ako sa game," he added.

The Beermen are in the middle of the team standings with a 1-1 win-loss record.
